The Ministry of public works and transport started the awarding process on 1st April and the two finalists have ten days to express issues on the proposed award. After this time frame, the government will award the concession contract definitively this month. The concession is for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of a new toll highway named Túnel do Marao. Construction will commence in 2009 and the road will be opened in 2012. 15/08.
