FCC and Copisa have subcontracted to SELI the construction of the 5,716 m Sant Just water tunnel which will link the Fontsanta and Trinitat potable water stations, respectively located in Sant Just Desvern and Barcelona. The subcontract amounts to EUR10.7 million. The bored diameter is 5.98 m, which is a cross-section of 28.09 square metres, while the inner diameter equals 5.20 m after lining with precast concrete segments. Geology consists of slates and quartzitic slates, metamorphic rock composed of limestone and silicate, schists and quartzite, granodiorite and granitic porphyries. SELI will use a TBM DSU 0598.119 that it supplied together with the associated back-up equipment and train. The rock will be taken out of the tunnel by an H+E conveyor belt.
