| HI-FOG® Water Mist Fire Protection System for Tunnels |
13.11.2007 |
Stopping a fire before it has a chance to grow was the intention when automatic on-board fire suppression systems were installed on fleet of freight shuttles, passenger trainsets, cruise ships and buildings. The system is designed to limit the rise of temperature and inhibit the fire spread using water mist technology. Pure water is reduced to droplets and delivered by high pressure nozzles. These tiny droplets absorb heat, vapourize and expand thus cooling the fire and supplanting the oxygen immediately adjacent to it. The technology has also started to conquer the tunnelling industry. 46/07. |
